my zephyr in the Ray of Light

Ben my army mate says these stuff all the time.
pull a -
pull a something is a term i learnt from army.
simply means behaving like. used in a phrase:
"if madonna(my crush) attempts to sing well, she's pulling a mariah(ben's crush)"
understated glam!
which simply means subtle beauty like used in a phrase:
"i think arthur's river island leather bag is understated glam."
i need to maintain my size zero!
which simply means i am not hungry used in a phrase:
(pointing at rations)
"huh no i need to maintain my size zero. i am pulling a kate moss here."
it's an acquired taste!
which he simply uses when no one else likes his taste for fashion. used in the phrase:
"huh but my manhattan bag is nice. its an acquired taste i guess."
stop it!
used when he wants people to stop mocking him. used in a phrase:
"stop it!"

p e r s e v e r a n c e is a looong hard word

Film making is honestly damn hard. i have been getting multiple setbacks and doubts. like, i cant do this... i cant do that... things cannot accommodate to what's planned... things cannot work out like how you see it... but every time i get them i know these are basic hurdles of a filmmaker and if i give up now, i loose every dream confidence and hope i have in myself let alone other's. its a rather ambitious project and many although creative inside would shun away from it, looking at the amount of time and effort you put into it knowing that at the end of the fucking day it might not even work out in the end esp when the 'nots' overpowers the 'is'. this is a risk not many are willing to throw themselves in because look at this fucking idea! gathering different people here and there, asking them to act in scenes that are not them and writing a song, making people to come together, gathering the supposedly little props, making people to listen, making people to do the way you see it in your mind, i might be the only one who believes in it. but when there is a strong will there will be the narrowest way. at the end of the day i know i will show one and all out there a really good film.

all these on top of the fact i have to design things for some random children's church camp, suddenly some Rhema conference thing then now by tonight, t-shirt design for my unit. why am i still going on with damiens monologue? why am i still going on with damien's monologue? i dont know. maybe there just meant to be damien's monologue.

i get my tempo and positive attitude back when i go into youtube and see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHX3nbFOuHk&feature=user or some other short film that managed to materialize.
and of course endless support from my friends.

***am thinking of asking for the $1000 SFC grant. will be filling in the proposal asap. so that i can pay all who are involved.
here is a rough UNCONFIRMED schedule of filming. hope you guys understand this. (BELOW)

more on the bright side i have gotten some relatively good news.
rayner's band, although i have not heard them but i have heard they are rather good has shown interest in playing the yet to be composed song, 'serene'.
veron's friend's friend seem to have good experience and am thinking of tapping into his experience. (hawhaw)

so far here are stuff i have learnt and compiled. these are important things to note to kaywee.
  • you don't have a schedule to film. you suit other people's schedule.
  • people to genuinely believe in the possibility of your script (in order to get them involved)
  • finalizing your script.(actually calling it final aka no more new ideas!)
  • rejection
  • POWER as in starting power. (Like when should i do it? NOW. NOW? NOW!)
  • POWER as in the ability to actually do something (like use a place, use a person etc.)
Now what's the little things preventing the film to move on:
  1. lack of mac. but i think a lappie will do. make do.
  2. props. photos of 'serene'.
  3. the song 'serene'. where to record? church? rayner's band will know? buy my own microphone attached to computer and make them sing into it? might all work.
  4. the starting power.
  5. not very important: the use of a school to film start of film which is optional for the film but to good effect. i believe after all the filmings i will ask a school with the film in my hand and SFC's public place usage proposal form. when they are happy with what i'm doing, i will surely get the green light i guess.
actually thats all! wow!

UP AND ON!

Wednesday

Change

Damien's Monologue has been edited thoroughly.
Do check out the major amendments.
Now it is more detailed/informative.
Ending has changed as well.
There will be a duet between Damien and Serene.
That's our Damien (above) by the way.

Yay going to go watch short films on monday.
Realised my lead casts can sing very well and can play musical instruments particularly ryan chow aka singapore's most promising pianist see below. who is even invited to japan to play.
I have came up with an Excel table (format ripped from Singapore Film Comission) of scene by scene filming with every detail necessary from location to props.
This easy film is not as easy as i thought. Makes me wonder how easy would it be for the feature film in the end...
Anyway i am also offered a role to be logistics in charge fr some random person's (aka friend's friend.) feature film. i wonder still if its just sai kang or really an opportunity.
Managed to get into contact with Mark Teng, a graduate of NAFA on media communications. he was very keen on helping. he filmed a short film before and it looked good.

madonna is my girl
went around looking for madonna's confessions concert tour dvd. that cd shop woman uttered some rubbish and i just walked off. went to gramaphone and the lady said oh singapore is the only country in the world to ban it because she appeared on stage on a cross like Jesus. i was like: erm please because of that it is banned in singapore? if they allow the faggot brand new urban male to even be singapore's leading male fashion retail outlet, why cant they let madonna sit on a cross and rise up from the abyss? retardedness. anyway in an act of defiance, here's the video where she rises up on a cross. and honestly it actually has a beautiful reason why she rose up on the cross if singapore even cared to infer.

Saturday

Tuesday

oh God the world is ending

OH GOD NOW I KNOW WHY I ACTUALLY MANAGED TO GET INTO NTU ADM ALREADY. BECAUSE I AM COMPETING WITH PEOPLE LIKE THIS.

PS: i'm not being egoistic or whatever but really just watch this and try not to laugh.

Just went to the gym?

I went to the gym just now. I was all sweaty and stuff. A rather slim and hot tai tai with a huge LV bag came into the lift with me. She smiled at me and asked me, "Just went to the gym?" i said "yes." She said, "The first time she just shifted into Lakeside Condominium, and saw the gym, she felt it was rather small." Then she left.

Woh.

Anticipation of the unkempt mind

One day i'll explain why i write what i write.
For now i shall get all of you prepared for 3 more stories coming out.

1. Damien's Monologue
Almost a musical about about a boy who is obsessed with a girl. He privately indulges in voyeurism; stalking and perpetual infatuation over the girl. But all these is somehow more romantic than perverse. Being an Audio Visual Assistant in his secondary school, he uses his video camera to shoot his heart’s crazy expressions and her. Then one day he discovers new things about her which leads to…

2. Nothing Stands In Our Way
Sometimes in the army, some change or development or transition could hold an entirely different essence. To 2 naval divers it's the deep and precious brotherly relationship shared between two pained young people, an overbearing yearn for one another’s love that had swirled them into an intoxicating grip of desire. infatuation. Love.

3. Block 31
A boy falls in love with a girl. A girl enters a lift with a rapist. A boy commits suicide because of a breakup. 3 very different lives someway or another intertwined by fate bringing forth some of the most mindblowing and interesting endings.

sultry eyebags girl

I desire the sultry eyebags girl in yellow dress eating in Far East's Wasabi Tei for dinner today. If you read this do note that you are my kind of girl and Veron my half lesbian friend agrees so. and I know Tim secretly agrees so too. We were the ones waiting for you people to leave so that we could have the seats.
